How a piece gets made

Every frame is a one-off, built by hand. The joke is always the same: the words are finished, the crew isn't.

  1. Letter the wall

    A slogan, a cliché or a line worth arguing with, lettered by hand in paint marker with drips added one by one.

  2. Build the site

    The artwork sits deep in a black box frame, so there's floor space for ladders, scaffolding and spilled buckets.

  3. Send in the crew

    Tiny painters are posed mid-job: rolling over a word, climbing a ladder, or lying next to their own mess.
